TELEPHONE No. 22

Wooden table telephone with trembler bell.  More or less the same as the Telephone No. 20, except the this set has an upper gallery, which apparently does nothing technically, but makes the phone more ornate.

There is a ring key to the front, right, of the bell.

Originally called the "Table Telephone, with Trembler Bell B", it was renamed as the Telephone No. 22 circa 1911.

Introduced circa 1900 and found in the 1906, 1910 and 1912 Rate Books.  The circuit diagram can be found in the 1909 GPO telephone wiring book.

The 1906, 1910, 1911, 1912, 1913 and 1914 Rate Books advised that this telephone was used in the Northern District.

Early table telephones were connected to the internal wiring with a Strip, Flexible Cord Connection.  Click here for more information.
