SIEMENS BROTHERS No. 323

Siemens Brother Telephone No. 323
Called an Extension set, this is a steel cased table telephone which is wired to an Intermediate telephone (No. 322).  It comprises of a dial, hand generator, Bakelite handset, rotating switch and indicator.

The telephone is similar to the No. 332 but the No. 323 also has a dial.

The phone was used as a Plan 7 extension phone.  The Intermediate telephone would act as the master and signalling between them was by the use of the hand generators.  A "star" indicator on the Intermediate would show when the extension is using the exchange line.

The Siemens Dial, Switch No. 18 is the equivalent of the GPO Dial, Automatic No. 10SS.

Known as a Corporation set as it is shaped like many similar phones supplied to the large municipalities of the day (i.e. Glasgow Corporation).
