THE RELIANCE TELEPHONE COMPANY Ltd.

Reliance Systems Ltd and The Reliance Telephone Company Ltd were first registered in the UK in 1919 and later became a subsidiary of GEC.  Originally they sold and rented GEC produced telephone equipment, Fire and Burglar alarm systems, electric clock systems and mining installations.  The 1926 Reliance catalogue is just a copy of the GEC catalogue, which included pictures of the Peel Conner works.  Later in life they appeared to only fit and rent apparatus.

Many of the later telephones had the initials RTC embossed on the rear of the case.

None of the rental equipment could be connected to the public telephone network so PAX systems were installed with no trunk connectivity.
