SPANNER, BOX


No. 1

Double-ended tubular spanner, 6.5" long, for use on nuts 1/4" and 9/32" BSW across flats.  A hole is provided near each end, through which a Spike Capstan, No. 1  is inserted for use as a tommy bar.

No. 2

Similar to No. 1, but for nuts 5/16" and 11/32" BSW across flats.

No. 3

Similar to No. 1, but for nuts 3/8" and 13/32" BSW across flats.

No. 4

Similar to No. 1, but for nuts 7/16" and 15/32" BSW across flats.

No. 5

Single-ended tubular spanner, 9" long, with a loose tommy bar fitted at one end. For nuts 19/32" across flats, winch are fitted in the interior of multi-coin collecting boxes.


 
No. 6

Single ended tubular spanner with wood handle Overall length 5". Through the entire length of the tool is drilled a hole to accommodate a 'Screwdriver, Instrument, No. 3.' The screwdriver and spanner are used on the locking bolt and gland nut, 5/16" across flats, which are fitted on Siemens' No.50 uniselectors.

No. 7

A steel rod with wood handle, for nuts 11/16" across fiats.
Overall length 7". Provided for securing bolts of Wipers Nos. 7, 8, 9 and 10.

No. 8

Steel rod with wood handle, for nuts 11/16" a cross flats.
Overall length 3.6". For securing bolt of Wiper's fitted on Siemens' No. 50 and 2000-type selectors.

No. 9

Single ended tubular spanner, 2.2" long, with an enlarged head. The internal diameter of the tithe is sufficient to accommodate a Screwdriver, Instrument, No, 1.'  The screwdriver and spanner are used for adjusting the armature contact screw arid locking nut, 5/32" across flats, which are fitted on Relays No. 119A.

No. 10

Single ended tubular spanner, 4.5" long, both ends slightly enlarged. One end-for use on nuts 3/16" across flats - is covered  with insulating material, whilst the other end is knurled to provide a grip when the spanner is in use.  Internal diameter of tube is sufficient to accommodate a Screwdriver, Instrument. No. 4.  The screwdriver and spanner are used for the locking nut and contact screws of A.E.Co.'s and W.E.Co's. line and cut-off relays.

No. 11

Single-ended tubular spanner, 4.25" long, for nuts 3/16" across flats.  A portion of the working end of the spanner is cut away, to clear the armature-restoring spring lever which projects from the switch.  Used with a Screwdriver, instrument, No. 4 on the armature-restoring-spring adjusting screw of Siemens' No. 50 uniselectors.

No. 12

Steel rod with wood handle.  Overall length 2.5". For nuts 1/4" across flats, fitted on 'Protectors, H.C. and T.'


 
No. 13

Steel rod, 4.6" long, with fixed tommy bar. For nuts 3/8" across flats on A.E.Co.'s uniselectors fitted at C.C.I. exchanges. A portion of the spanner is cut away, to clear the framework on which the uniselector is mounted.


 
No. 14

Steel rod with wood handle. Overall length 6.75". For nuts 1/4" across flats, fitted on 2000-type selectors.

No. 15

Single-ended tubular spanner, 5.25" long, with loose tommy bar. For nuts 13/16" across flats, which are fitted on 'Machines, Impulsing, No. 1'.


 
No. 16

Single-ended tubular spanner, 3.5" long, with fixed tommy bar. For nuts 19/32" across flats. Provided for general use but specially suitable for the 19/32" nuts fitted on Teleprinters.
