This Detector was used for line voltage measurements and by Linesmen for testing primary cells on customers premises.

Telephones used primary cells depending on the exchange type connected to.

These are shunts which can be connected the terminals shown above

This leather case housed the meter, whilst a small leather box held the shunts
and this could be attached to the meter strap
