TELEPHONE No. 75


This is a wall mounted telephone used on CBS No. 2 & 3 exchange systems.

Made for external use at cab ranks etc.

It is cased in Cast Iron and has a lockable door with an electro-magnetic catch, which unlocks the door on ringing.

The phone goes off hook, by the use of a spring plunger switch, which is operated when the door is opened.  It has a simple speech circuit with the receiver and transmitter in series.

Similar to Telephone No. 59 except that it had no magneto.

Secured with a Keys, Lock A.

These were sometimes used in cabinets and Kiosks No's 1 to 4,  and associated with a cash box.

Introduced circa 1915.

Superseded by Telephone No. 125.

Found in the 1915 and 1928 Rate Books.
