SIEMENS BROTHERS No. 59


This telephone was manufactured in 1924 and used by the South African Post Office.

It is steel cased and early models were fitted with a Dial, Switch No. 1 (GPO Dial, Automatic No. 3) or the Dial, Switch No. 4 (GPO Dial, Automatic No. 8) on later models.

The handset is a Telephone No. 21.

There are two diagrams available, one with a Retard Coil and one with a Transformer.

Provision was made for a Watch Receiver to be fitted.
