PNEUMATIC TUBE SYSTEMS
Ticket Tubes

The Ticket Tube system was first introduced in 1911 and generally used to send Trunk Call dockets/tickets to the docket administrators.  The Trunk Switchboard operators would complete tickets for all calls made and these were used as the basis for billing the caller.

The Ticket Tubes were oblong in shape and did not use carriers.  Instead, the ticket was folded at one end and was pushed through the tube by air.
