Locking switch used on the Telephone No. 280.

 


 
1-2/DBU/258

Called a Button, Dummy, this was used to fill the button hole in a Telephone No. 706 with cover Part DCO/612).

Made from Polymethyl Methacrylate (Parts 1/) and Acrylonitrile Butadiene (Parts 2/) from 1964 onwards.

Colours:-
Black, Grey, Green, Yellow, Ivory, Red and Blue.
 


 

1-2/DBU/259

Called a Button, these were in fact feet that were used on the Telephone No's 706 and 710.

Made of Vulcanised Chloroprene compound.

The 1/DBU/259 (introduced 1961) had a domed base, whilst the 2/DBU/259 (introduced 1962) had a recess.  It was found that the 1/DBU/259 slid very easily and the 2/DBU/259 was then fitted to all telephones.

1-40/DBU/260

Non locking button for use on the Telephone No. 710 embossed with numerous white, black or red (Parts 48-50) coloured legends.

The engraving is on the front face of the buttons.

Parts 1-17/DBU/260 were superseded by Parts 21-37/DBU/260.

Made from Polymethyl Methacrylate (Parts 1-17/) and Acrylonitrile Butadiene (Parts 21-42/).

Called a Button, Dummy, this was used to fill unused button holes in a Telephone No. 710 with cover Part DCO/648.

Made from Polymethyl Methacrylate (Parts 1/) and Acrylonitrile Butadiene (Parts 2/) from 1963 onwards.

Colours:
Grey, ivory and black.

Locking button for use on the Telephone No. 710 embossed with numerous white or black coloured legends.  There is a slide on the top of the button which latches under the fixing pin holding the button down.

The button is retained by means of a Pin, Part 1/DPI/205.

Made from A.B.S. Moulding material.

A transparent button, with numerous legends, that fitted the Telephone No. 746.  These are half the size of the /DBU/362 and  a retaining pin (1/DPI/203) and a Plunger (1/DPL/1002) are required for each button.  Always fitted in pairs.

A blank, called a Button, Dummy that is fitted on the top of the case of a Telephone No. 746 with a cover 1/DCO/718.

The 1/DBU/367 was fixed by a metal spring, but this was superseded in 1969 by the 2/DBU/367 which had moulded protrusions by which to hold the dummy in place.

A blank cover that fits at the front of the base of a Telephone No. 722.  This plate is removed if a switch is installed.

A transparent button, with numerous legends, that fitted the Telephone No. 740.  A retaining pin (1/DPI/203) and a Plunger (1/DPL/1002) are required for each button.

Engraving colour is black except for 26 and 28 which are white and 27, 29, 30 and 32 which are red.

Due to the curve of the top of the casing four different buttons are required with slightly different mouldings.

The parts are numbered left to right.
