The Type 100 and 101 is a generic model name for the British Post Office Telephone No. 746. They are both fitted with Unicoil bell ringers. The NZPO models HC400 to HC406 were Type 100 and models HC750 to HC754 were Type 101. The main difference in the two types is that the 100 Type has a 19 terminal printed circuit board, whilst the 101 Type has 22 terminals. These telephones can be found with decadic or DTMF press button keypads which are generally retrofits for the original dial. A wall variant may also be found, but this is once again a conversion to the basic telephone involving a wall mounting bracket and a handset support bracket. |
