RAMMER, VIBRATORY TYPE (WACKER)

Application
For the consolidation of earth in trenches.

General description
The machine is powered by a 60 c.c. 2-stroke engine driving a crank gear which transmits a reciprocating motion, via its crank rod, to a vibratory spring assembly.

The bottom end of the spring assembly is coupled to the shaft, on to which the ramming foot is fitted. The percussion rate is 450/650 strokes per mm. and the machine does not jump in the manner of the "Benjo" Rammer.

Two interchangeable ramming feet are supplied, one rectangular (12 in. x 14in.) and the other circular (9in. diameter).

The rammer, accessories and tool kit etc. are contained in a wooden case for transportation purposes.

Weight
110 lb.

Fuel
Petrol/oil mixture (1 part oil to 25 parts petrol).

Fuel consumption
1pt. per hour.

Capital cost
£190.

Remarks
When fitted with the rectangular ramming foot, the machine automatically walks forward, the operators main task being to guide it. If the circular ramming foot is used the machine can be moved in any direction by lightly pulling or pushing on the handle.

The rammer should be drained of fuel before laying it horizontally. A field trial is in progress.
