PRUNER, PNEUMATIC (EXPERIMENTAL)
Application
For tree trimming purposes with Ladder, Turntable Mounted, or Platform,
Elevating.
General description
The two main parts of the tool, the cutting jaws and the air operated piston and
cylinder, are placed one at each end of a hollow shaft. The piston is operated
by air pressure in one direction and returns under the control of a spring. The
movement of the piston is conveyed by a rod inside the hollow shaft to the jaws
which are operated by a scissors action. When the operating button is depressed
the jaws make one cut only. The pruner will operate with air at a pressure of
100 p.s.i., but for maximum performance air at 150 p.s.i. should be used.
Greenwood only, up to a maximum diameter of 2in. diameter can be cut. A 10ft.
length of 1/4in. diameter hose is supplied with the pruner. The pruner is
non-insulated.
Overall length
4ft. 7in.
Weight
7lb.
Capital cost
£67.
Remarks
Air for operating the pruner can be obtained from an air bottle or compressor.
The former method is preferable because the air can be delivered to the tool at
150 p.s.i.
