Application
For removing water that unavoidably collects in manholes, joint boxes etc.
General description
The unit consists of a centrifugal pump driven by a 4-stroke petrol engine
mounted on an aluminium base and provided with a carrying handle. The base is
fitted with resilient feet to prevent creep down road cambers when the pump is
running. The pump is capable of delivering 1650 gallons per hour at a suction
head of 25ft. or 3500 gallons per hour at 5ft. suction head. Each pump is
supplied with two 15ft. lengths of hose and a strainer, and on later models a
slow-running lever is fitted on the engine to allow seepage to be dealt with
economically. The engine is started by a pulley rope.

Weight
66 lb. without hoses. Hoses and auxiliaries weigh 50lb. Fuel consumption 1 pint
per hour.

Remarks
Pumps should not be run without water. (Priming funnel and plug in outlet pipe
provided). Suction hose should always have strainer fitted to prevent damage and
clogging of pumps. Hoses are fitted with 2in. B.S.P. couplings. Replacement
hoses and strainers are Rate Book items (Section 5-TA). Drain pump body in
frosty weather.
