HANDLE, KEY No. 1

Made from Polystyrene or Cellulose Acetate, then polished from mould and free of flash, these handles fit lever keys No. xxx

The Handle, Key No. 1 is the standard handle for a single lever key and is produced in two patterns.  The handle screws onto a No.2 BA thread.

Knurled pattern
The knurled pattern which is turned from formalised Casein, or in the case of black handles from Ebonite. While perfectly satisfactory in the great majority of cases, the use of Casein handles is not recommended in potentially damp situations such as unheated U.A.X. buildings, as, very rarely, a fungus growth may then develop.

Fluted pattern
The fluted pattern which is moulded in either a thermo-setting material (a phenolic or urea formaldehyde) or a thermo-plastic material, usually polystyrene.
