1000 type, telephone fitted with DC trembler bell and a capacity for three press buttons.

Used for plan working on C.B. and Automatic exchanges.

Pictures show the N1396A1T model, which is tropicalised and has a fine mesh covering the sound holes, to stop insect ingress.

These telephones may come with a 300ohm resistor connected to the dial terminal block 2 and 4.  The resistor can be removed for better transmission quality on long lines.

The N1396A1T was introduced circa 1958.

Note that the feet are offset on the front edge
As only one bell gong is installed there are only sound holes for that gong
