WOODEN BELLSET & BELLSET No. 26
INDUCTION COIL CONVERTER KITS

Prior to the Telephone No. 232 most UK table telephones required a Bellset No. 1 or No. 25.  These two Bellsets contained a basic transmission circuit, using an Induction coil, that allowed the earlier telephones to work efficiently.

The problem is that there are a lot of telephone Bellsets available to buy but most do not work with earlier telephones because they lack the all important induction coil.

This page advises of two converters that can be fitted to either a wooden Bellset or a Bakelite Bellset to convert them into Bellsets No. 1 or No. 25.

These converters comprise a modern circuit board, complete with an induction coil, that is fitted inside the Bellset.  The converter for the Bellset No. 26 is fixed to existing threaded holes in the base plate.

The Bell or Bellset must be of the AC type, in other words just a basic bell ringer with no associated contact set.

They come with instructions and can be ordered from vintagetelephony.co.uk.  This web site has no connection with this company.
