Telephone, Common Battery, Table, Series with Electro-magnetic (G.E. Type)
This
phone was from the General Electric Company in Britain. It was
originally built by Sterling Telephone & Electric to a British Post Office
pattern which was in turn based on a Western Electric design, but GEC bought
the phones in and renumbered them as part of their range. They were
aggressive overseas marketers so the phone came in from GEC rather than
Sterling. GEC also sold Peel-Conner telephones under both the
Peel-Conner and GEC brands.
