Telephone, Magneto Wall (Ericsson Type A)

Externally the same as the Telephone No. 1 Commonwealth Ericsson, this was the earlier standard Ericsson model imported by various State administrations.  Like the No. 1 it could be fitted with a condenser to make it suitable for C.B. exchanges.

A second receiver could be fitted to this telephone and it would hang on the hook located just below the writing table.

There was a press button on the telephone which would be pressed when operating the generator.  This disconnected the bell from the line.
