Telephone Common Battery Wall Western Electric C.B. telephone, similar to Telephone No. 15 but set up for party line working. Two versions are known. The U.S. version which had the bells under the bottom box, whilst the British version had its bells on the front panel under the writing slope, and had a longer writing slope to accommodate these. Although the Australian Post Office sourced its phones from Britain where possible, in times of shortage phones were sourced from the United States and other countries. Taken from Bob's Old Phones
