TEL/25/ATT

GPO style top with integral bell.

This model has ventilation holes under the receiver rests and these holes are for tropicalisation, stopping the phone from 'sweating' in tropical climes.

Some Gecophones have these holes as well. A spring-steel wire fits inside to stop insects getting in.

These phones can be found in the UK and it is thought that sometimes export phones were diverted to industrial customers in Britain, presumably when they had run out of standard-issue phones.

On export phones the wound components (induction coil, ringer coils) normally have a thick layer of orange varnish over the cloth.
